| Please note: because of funding regulations of the National Science Foundation, only US citizens and permanent residents can receive financial support from the Biological Invasions IGERT. | Graduate students, law students, postdoctoral scholars, and undergraduates interested in pursuing multidisciplinary research on biological invasions may be supported by IGERT fellowships and research awards. We describe categories of fellowships below and at the links indicated. For further information, contact our academic coordinator, Carole Hom, at clhom@ucdavis.edu. |
short-term fellowsThe Biological Inavsions IGERT will offer one- or two-quarter fellowships (spring and/or summer 2007) to students working on some aspect of biological invasions (economic, legal, sociological, mathematical, biological and/or other). Fellowships include a stipend of $7500 per quarter and fee waiver, or funds for research. This opportunity is open to all UC Davis graduate students, not just IGERT trainees. Funds must be used by 31 August 2007. Please submit:
Proposals that have an interdisciplinary focus or substantial outreach will be given preference over single discipline proposals, but all proposals will be seriously considered. Applications will be accepted through 5 January 2007. Contact Carole Hom, clhom@ucdavis.edu, for additional information. internshipsCurrent UC Davis masters' or doctoral students interested in doing non-academic internships in biological invasions may apply for support from the Biological Invasions IGERT under the short-term fellows program. ![]() IGERT short-term fellow Emma Underwood uses hyperspectral satellite imagery to map invasive plants, including the pampas grass visible in the background. long-term fellowsBecause we are approaching the end of our funding, we no longer are accepting students for long-term fellowships. We encourage you to contact faculty who could be potential advisors at UC Davis if your primary goal is to enter a graduate program at Davis, and the national IGERT recruiting office (www.igert.org) if you seek an interdisciplinary graduate training program. |
