We envision that participants in the Biological Invasions IGERT may need training in research tools within a variety of disciplines. Toward that end, the IGERT program will include minicourses and workshops in using these tools. Potential topics include use of GIS, spatial modelling, computational tools, survey design, and any other topics deemed appropriate by trainees and faculty. Minicourses may be offered by advanced graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with appropriate expertise who serve as consultants in that particular area, or by visitors to the IGERT from agencies and institutions outside UC Davis.
