Evolution and Ecology Graduate School Preview Program
The center for population biology provides support to the Evolution & Ecology Graduate School Preview Program. This is a program created by Population Biology graduate students and led by current UC Davis graduate students in Evolution and Ecology related fields. This program provides students with critical information, advice, and mentorship with the aim of increasing the accessibility of ecology and evolution graduate programs for students of all backgrounds.

Promoting Inclusion in the Center for Population Biology
The members of the Center for Population Biology play an active role in fostering a welcoming and supportive community. Since 2016, students in the Population Biology Graduate Group have run a committee that works to help build a culture of belonging that encourages collaboration, creativity, and scientific impact. This independent committee works closely with the center and other units on campus toward these goals. These efforts align with the UC Davis Principles of Community, reflecting a shared commitment to an inclusive, respectful, and equitable environment that values every individual.

The CBS Principles of Community Collective is an advisory body to the dean comprised of faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdocs. The group provides advice and guidance to support the cultivation and advancement of the UC Davis Principles of Community and aims to strengthen community in all areas of student, staff, faculty, and educational and college programs.
